Oftentimes, it’s good to figure out where you are in the claims process – normally, there are four stages:

1. I haven’t filed a claim, I didn’t know I could file a claim, I was thinking about filing a claim: It’s important that you get this right, from the onset of the project. Working with the claims paperwork and having a solid contingency agreement in place with a roofing specialist will ensure that you getting the most bang for your insurance buck.

2. I have received a partial approval for the claims process/ I have receiving a partial repair for my claim – we’re going to let you know now that there is a “working agreement” called a supplemental. Oftentimes, insurance companies will try and get away with only doing a “partial repair” or replacement on the roof in order to save the insurance company the most money. Give us a call, we can ensure you’re getting the most for your hard earned money.

3. I have been denied – you have one opportunity to get a re-inspection done on your roof, make sure one of our roofing restoration specialists are on site with you adjuster to make sure you’re getting the most bang for your insurance buck.

4. I have full approval – it’s important to make sure your roofing contractor actually replaces the entire “scope of loss” give us a call and we will hapilly review your agreement to ensure you’ve gotten the most you can our of your claim, and more importantly that the claim is being filled out to its entirety.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER APPROVAL?

Once approved, your have to hire a roofing contractor that knows specifically how to read a scope of loss. This is why insurance companies have “preffered contractors” at their disposal. These experts are designed to work firstly with saving your insurance company money, and secondly, ensure that your scope of loss is being met to the insurance companies standards and expectations.

Not all roofing companies are built the same way! Many roofing companies do not understand how to read a scope of loss, let alone replace everything that goes into one. More importantly, if the roofing company you call does not replace the roof to the specifications, your may fail your roofing inspection, getting your insurance company off the hook for future insurance claims.
